Coffee bean is a seed from a coffee plant. The fruits of the coffee plant have two stones with flat sides together. Coffee beans have endosperm, which contains from 0.8 to 2.5% caffeine. This caffeine cultivates coffee plants.
Coffee beans are the number one export products for almost all countries all over the world. Coffee plants come from five species: Arabica, Benghalensis, Canephora, Liberica and Stenophylla.
Each species produces slightly different characteristics; Arabica comprises 70% of world’s coffee trade. Canephora (synonym of Robusta) cultivates in places where Arabica is not thriving. Liberica grows in very limited lands. >>Read More

Here’s the procedure for cupping coffee:

• Grind coffee beans coarsely
• Put it into a small bowl
• Smell it to find out the freshly ground scent
• Add hot water
• Smell again to evaluate the aroma
• Let it cool
• Take a spoon; slurp a spoonful of coffee into your mouth
• Spray over the tongue and swill

As the tongue has different areas that pick up sweet, sour, salty and bittery tastes, it is important in evaluating coffee to let the coffee saturate the palate. Body, Aftertaste and balance are also important characteristics in evaluating coffee. >>Read More
