With the development of agriculture came the rise of civilizations, but agriculture was more dominant for a long time. Vegetables were a necessity, but their nutritious value and the proper usage was unknown except in that they were a cheap and reliable means of keeping the body fed. And they were also delicious. Gradually, more was learnt about the value of vegetables and their versatility. Lots of vegetables have not only the single usage, they can have multi usage and even different parts of a single plant can have different taste as well as nutritious value and can be used in multi cuisines. Mentioned here are few plants among many whose roots and shoots both are culinary delights.
Celery Root (Celeriac) and Celery
Celeriac (Celery Root) is a turnip-rooted vegetable, and the root forms a solid knob just below the soil surface. Celery root is usually boiled and eaten alone or in salads. To store, wrap it in plastic, and keep it very cool. Celery root is high in phosphorus and potassium. It is beneficial to the lymphatic, nervous, and urinary systems. When selecting this vegetable, choose roots that are firm. Press the tops of the roots to check for internal rot.

Celery belongs to the same plant family as carrots, parsley, fennel, caraway, and anise. The characteristic flavor of these plants is from the volatile oils found in the stems, leaves, and seeds. Wild celery has a bitter flavor and pungent odor.

The most desirable celery is of medium length, thickness, and solidity. The stalks should be brittle enough to snap easily. Pithy or stringy celery is not good to eat and probably has less vitamin and mineral content. The pithiness of a celery stalk can be detected by pressing or twisting the stalk, and stringiness can be detected by breaking the stalk. Celery that has formed a seed stem probably has a poor flavor and may be bitter.

Celery is highly perishable, and should be kept refrigerated. To prepare for eating, scrub and wash thoroughly. Before the tops of celery are used, they should be separated, and washed several times. If you are cooking celery, steam it only long enough to break down the fibers, or cook it a few minutes in a vessel with a tight lid. Use very little water. Cooked celery takes only about three hours to digest. Celery is also delicious in soup and as a seasoning in almost all cooked food.

Celery is fairly high in roughage and low in calories. Its high water content makes it an especially good food to eat with foods that are more concentrated, particularly heavy starches. Celery is best eaten raw, preferably in the form of combination vegetable salads. Use it as a balance in high protein salads such as chicken, tuna, or shrimp. Celery is particularly flavorful when cooked with tomatoes or green peppers. Its pot liquor is especially good as a base in soups and sauces. As an all-around maintainer of good health, celery juice gets top billing.

Turnip and Turnip Greens
The turnip has been used since ancient time. The broad bottom flat turnip and the globular turnip are the most popular. Turnips may be served steamed, with drawn butter or cream sauce. Nepalese are very much comfortable in eating turnip cooked as a curry. Mixing turnip with mutton also makes a wonderful curry. They are also excellent raw and shredded in salads.

Turnip greens are excellent cooked the same way spinach is usually cooked. The greens should be cooked in a covered pan until tender, using no water or only the water that clings to the leaves.

Regardless of variety, turnips have much the same flavor if grown under the same conditions. They may be distinguished by shape, as round, flat, or top-shaped, and also by color of the flesh white or purple by the color of the skin. The most popular variety is the Purple Top White Globe. This variety has a large globe-shaped root, with an irregularly marked purple cap, and its flesh is white, sweet, crisp, and tender. The leaves are dark green, large, and erect.

When dressing to dazzle, women can go extra mile to make sure every accessory and part of their outfit is perfect. But for few, the attire that they are wearing is missing something, that extra oomph, which will truly make their attire look glamorous and stunning. Depending on the look you’re opting, you may find that by adding just the right pair of boots to your look can transform your attire into a real fashion statement.
There are numbers of stylish boots out there to add to your look, with endless options to select from, regardless of your personal style. If you like glam rock style, there are boots for that. If you like the flirty, ultra-feminine look, there are boots for that, too. Even short skirts, shorts and dresses can be fashionably worn with the right pair of boots, giving an elegant look to a subtle dress.
Buying numbers of boots can be pretty expensive, so you will want to take a look at what your wardrobe needs. If you have more modern clothes, perhaps a rock style or an edgier pair of boots will do the magic to spice up your outfit. If you generally wear conservative clothes, a more classic, sophisticated pair of boots will give your look an added style.
Looking for latest boots this winter, women have an excellent variety to choose from. You can opt for thigh high, flat heels, slouch, mini, buckle or belted. If you are looking for style, comfortability or practicality, all styles are easily available. Your taste is the limit along with the time you have available to do the shopping.

Boots that fit over-the-knee are high on the popularity list. These boots are also referred to as thigh high or ultra-tall boots. This particular winter boot fashion for this season can be found with either low or high heels. This is the most fashionable boots this winter. What makes this type of boot so popular is that it looks great with all kind of attires, a skirt, dress or jeans. The trend with jeans is to tuck the legs in the long shaft to show off the wonderful over the knee boot style.

Slouch boots are just like they sound just a spin off from the slouch socks kids wear. You may have also worn it while you were a kid. The old slouch boots you wore was little plain compared to the new slouch boot fashion now. There are numerous colors and designs of slouch boots that are available in the market to dress up any outfit you happen to wear.

If you aren’t a heel person like me, don’t worry flat heeled snow boots are also trendy this season. The greatest thing about the flat heeled winter boot fashion is the over-the-knee winter boots that look great with a skirt. This style allows the fashion meticulous woman to carry on an excessive amount of walking without the worry of falling on the slippery floor.

For everyone, love making is an important part of the life time experience. For good or bad, decisions about sex are thought about and talked about a lot. You might find yourself in a variety of situations in your life, some positive and some negative. You might fall in love and have the perfect, safe, satisfying, sober physical relationship. Everyone wants it to be great, meaningful and intense.
Love making resulting in positive feelings, and free of distrust, disappointment, regret, physical, mental or emotional damage, is the only kind worth having. Your chances of achieving sex you can feel right about are finely tuned if you avoid letting alcohol be your guide. Until you find the right person and the right time, don’t let alcohol lead you into accepting anything less.
Everyone’s sexual situations may be different. Crowded parties, candlelight dinners are some of the events which generally lead to having sex under the influence of alcohol. Some partners you might have known for years, some for hours. But when it comes to sex under the influence of alcohol, the potential risks put everyone on common ground. Doesn’t it seem like alcohol makes things easier? After intoxication, it becomes easier to dance, easier to introduce yourself to people you don’t know, to talk, and to laugh. Shyness breaks down and magically everyone seems more available with a buzz on. The reason it becomes easier is that alcohol helps you to forget about the things that usually make you nervous. Alcohol frees you up by making everything seem OK, and it helps you get your nerve up.
Everyone knows that the best way to avoid these problems is having a relationship with a person where all the fears and hesitations have been dealt through sincere talk, understanding and mutual interest. However in some cases the notion of love making comes up in less than comfortable situations also. Such situation may arrive when you meet someone at the party, at a pub, a bar, at a friend’s place or wherever. And sometimes in such situations alcohol seems like a good way to getting things going because it provides a false feel of comfort.
The biggest problem with the use of too much alcohol as an alternate for real comfort is that you put yourself in risk physically, mentally and emotionally. When you drink to make things easier, things generally get more difficult, maybe not at the same moment, but often later on.
With alcohol in your system, the capacity to make smart decisions crash down. Your brain is sleeping, but your hormones are jumping. When you drink, you only think for the short-term. The fact is that even encounters which seem simple can have long-term effects. You probably don’t think all these things on the way to bed, unfortunately, but STDs and even other factors like self-esteem, reputation, societal boundaries and emotional stability will become very important when all is said and done.

Putting on baggy pants, talking in the ascent one can hardly understand and behaving like a hooligan is not the hip hop culture. Many do not know what hip hop is actually. Some just define it as one of the musical genre in which the ’singer sings without breathing and like a conversation’. The person who gives this statement is the die hard fan of the hip hop music synonymously used as rap music. But what this fan said is not the true hip hop.

Hip hop is not just the music. It is a culture that developed in the late 80s of twentieth century among the African American youngsters in United States. Hip hop is the urban youth culture associated with music dance and arts. Nirnaya Da Nsk a popular hip hop artist of Nepal who came into limelight with his ‘Hamro Gaule Jiwan’ totally agrees to it. He adds, “Hip hop is the medium of expressing oneself. Rap music is a narration of the story like Nepali folk songs do.” Hip hop culture has four basic elements, Break dance, Rap Music, Graffiti Painting and Dj-ing. Through these medium one can express oneself and tell others a story about anything, says Nirnaya.

“There are many who are following it blindly and without understanding what hip hop is”, says Nirnaya. Nirnaya got exposure to the rap music and the newly evolving culture during his school days while he was in the US. The hip hop culture in the inner city streets of big cities like New York was experiencing the tremendous growth of this African American culture. Hip hop became the means of gang fights and hooliganism during 1980s in its initial phase. The culture was taken as the means of conflict and such conflict reached to the extent of gun firing and killing each other. Conflict grew from the competition between two groups by singing and dancing and in extreme form became the war of rappers. The conscious practitioners of hip hop envisaged the need of a movement to correct the image of hip hop culture.

In Nepal, at the present context needs similar movement, says Nirnaya. Here people are blindly following hip hop and using it in wrong way. “Using foul language is not hip hop. Here rap is used in wrong ways without understanding” adds Nirnaya. He further asks the aspiring rappers to tell positive stories not unnecessary things through rap.

Rap and hip hop culture entered Nepal during early 1990s.

Sexual pleasure is taken as the medium of spicing the relationship and making life more enjoyable and more attachments between the couples. Any group of people view sexual pleasure as undoubtable need in itself, young lovers, middle aged couples, and even senior citizens opt for accessories to enhance their sensuous moments. We are not talking about sex toys or something like that here. We are trying to talk about mundane products which can easily and effectively heighten level of excitement and pleasure. A right choice of accessories helps to create the right ambience for sex. So go shopping for these intimacy enhancing products.

Soft Beddings and Fur

Start purchasing with nice soft bedding as this is the most essential thing you will require to create your mood for sex. If possible, add some artificial furs too. Intimacy on the soft bedding is something very special and sensual. Sometimes the soft and naughty fur does wonder than hands and entire body does. It is the spice to make your spicy moments much spicier.

Soft Music

When we talk about intimacy, how can we miss music? Music has always been playing a vital role in refreshing and relaxing everybody’s mind. No exception in sex, playing soft music in your bed nest stimulates your sex drive. Music is considered as the weapon for bringing love birds together and enhances the romantic drives. How can a romance be complete without a romantic music on the background?

Aromatic Candles

You cannot relax under harsh light or the din of traffic. Therefore, choose a cozy nook in your house and create the mood for sex. Light up those lovely candles which burn themselves to provide you dim light creating a romantic ambience. Aromatic candles are those products which not only give you attractive light but also create your mood with its aroma. You may have settled into your career, have a perfect family or be beautifully single. You feel comfortable and confident in your fabulous shoes, decent clothes though you may be noticing a few wrinkles in your path - or on your face. But there are many options you can do to prevent aging, sun damage, and beautify your skin well.

The first and vital step is to prevent sun tanning and adopt an anti-aging skin care routine. Nowadays with women smoking and scorching their skin outdoors even more, skin care in your 30’s has evolved from working exclusively on prevention to a heavy dose of skin treatment as well.

Limit Sun Exposure
Excessive sun exposure in your earlier years has caused wrinkles and fine lines, in addition to drying your skin. So, reversing the damage from your earlier golden days is vital by adding anti-aging products to your routine. And for any age: sunscreen is the most important to keep off the sun damage.

Anti-Aging Building Blocks
In your 30’s, you have to build the skin care regimen of your 20’s - typically a cleanser, exfoliating product and moisturizer - by incorporating anti-aging formulas. An eye cream is always effective as a preventive measure and treatment for under eye dark circles and crow’s foot.

Though many products help with darkness around the eye and smoothing wrinkles and lines, it’s good to know which ingredient is doing what. Look for eye creams that include Retinol, alpha hydroxy acids, copper, and vitamin C, because they stimulate collagen growth. Ingredients like vitamin K, kojic acid, and hydroquinone lighten the dark circles around the eyes.

Just as wrinkles around the eyes begin to appear, so do the fine lines on the rest of your face. Again, blame your collagen, or the lack thereof, for dwindling as you age. Because retinoid products, derivatives of vitamin A, stimulate the production of collagen, they reduce brown spots, smoothen wrinkles and other signs of aging. Unlike many anti-aging formulas, retinoids’ efficacy has been always appreciated.

Acne
The products mentioned above also help treat acne. Though you’re thinking acne is an unattractive blemish of the past, unfortunately, it doesn’t completely disappear in your 30’s too. Instead it arrives before and during your periods.

Retinoid products should be used by medical prescription only and have side effects of redness and irritation. Dermatologists, however, say these side effects will last about 4 to 6 weeks after which you’ll reap the glowing benefits. Retinol products are offered over the counter, but are less potent and not as effective as retinoid treatments.

Moisturize
You should also start using serums daily, which are said to penetrate deep into the skin and provide hydration, giving radiance to a dull complexion. Always apply serums before your moisturizer.

Your skin care routine will contain many steps - sunscreen, cleanser, exfoliating product, eye cream, serum, and other anti-aging products. Though this sounds way too much, remember you only have one beautiful face, so treat it with kindness, and with some great effective products.

One of the toughest items a person has to shop for is swimwear. It’s a three-way mirror, your body, the swimwear, and the truth. What does the itsy bitsy bikini or a swim trunk say about your tummy? Does the reflection in the mirror say, “Take me to the pool” or does it say, “I can’t be seen in this!”? While buying swimwear, the only person you need to please is yourself. After all, it’s your body that’s on display and you need to select a style, fabric, color and fit that suit your personality and needs. Finding the perfect swimwear can truly be an exhausting, frustrating search and many people would rather forego the pool in order to avoid the hunt.

Swimwear designers are true artists when it comes to understanding the many shapes the female body represents and in male’s cases also the similar logic applies. Working with values such as the lines, angles, weights, and proportions, the designers can create swimsuits to flatter any figure. Choosing the right fabrics and colors are a small part of the perfectly designed swimsuit. Knowing how to incorporate clever detailing to draw the eye to the assets of a figure or to camouflage problem areas is paramount to great swimwear design.

In women’s case, it is up to the individual woman to know her body well enough to understand what areas she would like to get noticed on and the more problematic areas she would like to hide. Shirring at the waist of swimsuit can create more definition to the waist. Softly molded cups can accentuate the bust and give the illusion of a smaller waist. A scoop back design can elongate the torso, while lower cut legs can slenderize the hips. A deep V at the neckline draws the eye away from the tummy, while a high cut leg can make legs look longer. A square back design lends itself for more coverage, a plunge bra is good for added lift, deep straps are great for maximum support, and the string bikini allows for a great tan.

In case of choosing Men’s swimwear; keep in mind that what is the kind you want, one which covers maximum part of your body or just some slips or trunks. However, if you are going to do some hard swimming you must not really go for tight trunks as it may not be really comfortable. Instead go for a bit looser ones. But it is not good to choose very loose fit either because you may risk of losing it in the water, and I’m sure you don’t want to get embarrassed.

Swimwear has come a long way over the years and people today have so many choices available when it comes to finding the perfect swimsuit. Vibrant, sumptuous colors, hand sewn designs, crystal embellishments, buckles, and detailed trim all lend unique elements to the swimwear fashion world. Whether you are looking for that elegant, understated suit that says poolside cabana or the fun and flirty polka dot bikini that exudes youthful bliss, treat yourself to swimwear that makes you feel beautiful. Light colored swimwear, especially white and pale yellow, have a tendency to become see-through when they get wet! Choose wisely. The human body is a gorgeous piece of architecture and what better way to showcase what is uniquely yours?

And that include using skin care products too. But when those products cause your skin to break out in an itchy rash, it defeats the purpose. Herbals skin care products are gaining popularity these days due to their safe nature.

Herbal Skin Care is in use since 1400BC. The ancient Egyptians are known to have used herbs, and oils. The ancient Greeks were also well known for their use of herbs and oils for making herbal skin care beauty preparations. Even going to the point of making a connection between health and beauty, the science of dermatology was developed by Hippocrates, the famous Greek physician. The Romans used to dye their hair with myrtle and walnut husk, darkened their eyes with kohl, bathed their heads with extracts of myrtle and juniper berries to prevent their hair from thinning and rubbed alkanet root on their cheek to make them rosy. Back in those times I’m sure they had the freshest of herbs, and used a lot of them.

In modern days also, regardless of which hemisphere you live in, the seasons are changing. For some it’s a time of planting, for others a time of harvest, but for everyone it is a time of change. Our internal chemistries feel and adjust to those climate changes almost without our notice, but there is one major organ that always seems to take weather change on the chin…or rather, on the skin. This issue let’s take a look at some herbal preparations that can ease the seasonal transition, protecting and beautifying the skin naturally.

Simple Cleansers
Beneficial herbal cleansers can easily be made from infusion at the rate of 1 small handful of herbs per cup of water, brewed as you would a tea. I recommend Chamomile, Horsetail, Calendula, Lovage, or Elderflower in particular.

Herbal Facials
A simple and popular - and very effective! - skin rejuvenation technique is the Herbal Steam Facial. Both a cleanser and a toner, herbal steams are among the simplest to prepare and use.
Take 2 handfuls of fresh herb or 2 tablespoons of the dried herb and add to water that is just steaming, but not boiling. Tent a thick bath towel over your head and lean over the steam. Inhale the steam and let the aromatherapy benefit the mind as the steam opens and cleans the pores. Continue for 5 to 10 minutes. Try Lavender or dried Lime Flowers for a soothing, calming effect; Peppermint for a stimulating effect; or Rosemary or Sage for a soothing or refreshing effect.

Toning Face Packs and Masks
You can apply a facial mask or toning pack once a week to condition and tone the skin, or to brace it after a Facial Steam. This is especially good for oily skin.
Put 2 tbsp dried or fresh herbs and 2 tbsp yogurt in a bowl, stir in enough oatmeal to make a soft spreadable paste. Apply the mixture thickly over cleansed face, avoiding the eyes and mouth. Allow to firm and dry, then rinse away with warm water. Try this with Elder flower, Fennel leaves, Marigold petals, Thyme leaves, or Yarrow in particular.

Calendula Skin Oil
Combine 1 cup packed fresh Calendula petals (about 1 ounce),2 cups olive oil, grapeseed oil or avocado oil and ½ cup wheat germ oil in a large glass bottle, cover, and set in a sunny window for two weeks, shaking every day. Strain and refrigerate for storage. This mixture is gentle enough for babies for massage, and yet strong enough to soothe and soften dry heels or elbows, dry cuticles and even chapped lips.

Calendula Skin Toner
3 ½ cups liquid witch hazel
½ cup packed dried calendula petals (About ½ ounce)
5 two inch sprigs of fresh rosemary
If you have oily skin, substitute fresh mint for the rosemary, and add a 2 inch ribbon of lemon rind
Combine all ingredients in a large glass bottle, cover and set in a sunny spot for seven days, shaking once a day. Strain. Keep a small bottle available in the bathroom for daily use, and store the rest in the refrigerator. Splash on face after cleansing skin and before moisturizing, or dot on insect bites to stop itching.

Calendula After Shave
Mix one part of Calendula toner (above, normal or oily skin version) with one part Aloe Vera Jelly. Another favorite, of course, is Lavender…

Soothing Lavender Skin Oil
2 cups fresh lavender flowers (or 1 cup dried flowers)
7 two inch sprigs of fresh rosemary (or 2 teaspoons of dried)
1 two inch ribbon dried orange peel
1 ¼ cups olive oil, grapeseed oil, or peanut oil or any combination - olive is the heaviest, grapeseed the lightest, and peanut contains the most Vitamin E.
Pound the lavender and rosemary lightly with mortar and pestle to release the volatile oils and aroma. Pack the herbs into a 2-cup glass jar along with the orange peel, and pour on the oil(s). Cover the jar and shake well. Leave the jar in a sunny window for two weeks, shaking the jar daily. Then strain and enjoy. Tightly covered and refrigerated, the oil keeps for up to a year.

Another trick is to add several fresh or dried lavender flowers (or a couple of drops of the essential oil) to your favorite facial toner. The lavender helps normalize the excess oil in the skin. To make your own toner for oily skin, mix half a cup of liquid witch hazel with a tablespoon of cider vinegar, and add lavender to that.

For Tired, Stressed Skin
- For a quick ‘face lift’ or to add a little resilience to tired, stressed skin, take leftover black tea and rub it onto the skin after washing, but before moisturizing. Yarrow teas or the moist herb works equally well. The tannins in both provide a temporary tightening effect.
- For tired or puffy eyes, dip two cotton pads in chamomile tea and set the pads on your closed eyelids. Let them remain there for about ten minutes to relieve puffiness.

The most appealing male is chosen as the winner in the manhunt side and the most gorgeous lady in the megamodel side. Gladrags contest is largely about style, glamour, panache and great bodies. The contest continues with fanfare for about a month and is followed by a grand finale extravaganza. The final screening of the contestants is done in Mumbai where the models have to walk the ramp and even dance. Among them the final contestants are selected for the grand show.

Define yourself….
Simple living and high thinking is what I believe in. I’m not being philosophical, but that’s the way I live. I’m quite down to earth and have a friendly nature though people think that I am a little arrogant at first meet.

Have food fetish for….
Being a Nepali, what best can I tell? Simply, it’s Daal, Bhat and Tarkari.

Fine Dining…..
I’m not fond of fine dining, I prefer casual dining.

Economical eat outs….
Great for pocket.

Prefer to drink……

Greasy food makes you……

Spice that makes my nose……
Peppercorns

Herbs or spices that show your character…….
Again peppercorns, its strong peppery character and strong aroma perfectly represent me.

Water……
Necessity, I indulge into it.

Pure Ghee

Best Dining experience……
Haven’t find out yet, searching for it actually.

Being served food late makes you…….
Can’t tolerate. I assume most of the people think the same way; the food which arrives on your table after your hunger is gone is of no use.

Restaurant I would open will be……
“Mc Donald’s” in Kathmandu, as there is not even a single one here.

Chefs for you are…….
Creative guys, they make the simplest foods so exotic.

Drink that truly portray you…….
Champagne as it sparks.

Looks or Skill that click you…….
Both.

Invited by someone special in dinner …………….
Have to plan especially as that will be the very special day, haven’t thought of what I will do.

Define food in two words….
Surviving need.

If God comes to earth and ask you your wish……
Just return me those days of Gladrags Contest, I want to live those moments one more time.
